ASLI MUGS, RED NIGHT LIGHTS, AND OTHER GOODIES ARE AVAILABLE
NOW, AND THEY ARE TERRIFIC! See Barbara Macedonio at a meeting. The
Coffee Mugs have the deep blue outside and the correct, white inner
surface so that your coffee color can be properly gauged (precise
titration is an art!). The bright red LED lights are VASTLY cheaper
than the stuff you see in the ads, and only ours have the club logo!
ASLI Decals: That new telescope will look classy with a genuine
ASLI decal- available with adhesive on the back, as for a telescope
tube, or with adhesive on the front, as used on car windows. Show
a little spirit for a buck! Pick one up at the next meeting.
Observing Sessions (Every Month)
Robert Moses State Park: (Note- a permit is required from the Long Island State Parks and Recreation Commission to join us here (see below). We observe from the northwest corner of the western half of Field No. 2 on clear Sunday nights around third quarter or new moon.
Stargazing Permits: Your Stargazing Permit needs to be renewed. This is still available from LI State Parks HQ, exit 37 from the Southern Parkway, for a $15 fee. For information on renewing or obtaining this permit, please call (631) 669-1000; ask for the " Permit Department", Extension 223 ).You will need your vehicle registration, since the permit is to your name and license plate. The permit allows you to use sites at Jones Beach, Robert Moses, and other State Parks on the Island.
